Kansas By Design
Hello out there from Pratt, Kansas; land of sunflowers, wheat fields, deer and pheasants. We enjoy amazing sunrises and sunsets without obstacles to block the view. If we don't like the weather now, just give it an hour because we are known for our extreme conditions. We can go from morning frost to sunshine, to wind and thunderstorms, and then snow in one day. We have 100+ degrees in the summer to -20 degrees and three feet of snow in the winter. We love our space, clean air, and as a friend likes to say "when we find more than a dozen trees in one place - we make it into a city or state park, sooo we do love our small parks. Kansas Deer
I was on my way to town about 11:00 am one morning after a week of winter weather and I caught something out of the corner of my eye. Of course I had my camera in the seat next to me and was able to capture a group of deer feeding in a small field just a short distance from the Ninnescah River. I watched with awe for about 20 minutes. They just went about their business, not being bothered by the other traffic, or by me watching them thru the camera lens.. Kansas is a great destination for hunting enthusiast.
