I have been looking for something to motivate me and get me on the track to a healthier life, including weightloss, when a friend invited me to a support group she was attending. Seeing her success in the last year I decided to attend and I am now designing a new healthier lifestyle for myself. I believe we all know what we should be doing to be healthy but the hardest part is finding a way to make it fit our busy lifestyle. I will share my journey with you as I crawl, run, climb, slide, jump, and follow this path to a new life 'by design'. It may not be pretty but I guarantee you it will be with humor and honesty. Come along with me and become a healthier you.
March 8, 2011 Trying to get back on track after this long winter and no walking except a few times I walked with Leslie and the video. Always feel so much better when walking. Dr. Oz said walking is the #1 exercise to do, at least to start with. I am back to the poiint of not having any energy and loss of patience with things. Going to Big 12 Tournament this weekend and worry the seats will be big enough for me to sit in, so I have been beating myself up about not being more disciplined. We are starting a women's kickboxing class the end of March, don't know if I up for it but have already told the instructor maybe we should start a slow=mo class for those of us that are way out of shape !!! Will keep you posted on my progress.
APRIL 2011 Took my grandson to cosmosphere to see the TIV (tornado intercept vehicle) and watch the Tornado Alley Imax show. Now I told you I would be honest about my journey so here is truth #1; I got stuck, YES I admit it, stuck getting out of the darn seat in the IMAX, how humiliating !!! No, no one else even noticed but I was in tears as we left. This is the reality of not being a certain size in this society, but it was a rude wake up call for me to get serious and NOW.
Very suprised we had no interest in our womens kickboxing class, Zumba is the big thing right now and people are traveling all over going to classes. Kickboxing is such an exhilirating exercise, especially when you put on the gloves and get to hit something. The 'Biggest Loser' trainers use kickboxing as one of their top workouts, if you ever watch the show. Since we haven't got a class started, I will work out on my own, by myself, lonely, no fun!
After the IMAX wake up call, I have set three 30 day goals to get me on track.
1. Using my product (naturual supplements) faithfully everyday
2. Eat fresh 'greens' everyday.
3. Walk everyday.
By starting these 3 simple goals I have lost 3 lbs this week. Will keep you posted.
August 2013 Wow a lot of time has passed since I last posted here. I am still fighting the same battles I was two years ago. But now I have small support system in place called 'The FAT LADY Sings' online group that we share our struggles and triumphs with, also a small gathering of women that meet weekly as a support group. I am not on a program these days, my goal is to eat healthy. Healthy by being balanced in my approach; limited sugar and processed foods. No magic pills or diets here. My exercise of choice is walking and more walking. I am a lot stronger than I was, now able to do more and getting stronger every day. I probably won't post much here unless there is some amazing event to declare, so I keep putting one foot in front of the other day by day and lean on friends for support and encouragement.
